What is Aluminium 6061 Forgings?

Aluminium 6061 includes about 97.9% aluminium, 1.0% magnesium, and 0.6% silicon, with small amounts of copper and chromium. It is heat-treatable and offers tensile strength of 260–310 MPa and yield strength around 240 MPa in T6 condition. The alloy is corrosion-resistant, machinable, and maintains a good strength-to-weight ratio after forging.
