Aluminium 2014 comprises about 90.7% aluminium, 4.4% copper, 0.8% manganese, and 0.5% magnesium. It is heat-treatable, providing tensile strength up to 480 MPa and yield strength around 390 MPa in T6 condition. It also has good fatigue resistance and high hardness. While its corrosion resistance is lower, anodizing or surface treatment can enhance it. 2014 forgings respond well to solution heat treatment and aging, ensuring stable performance in high-stress conditions. They maintain their properties at elevated temperatures, making them suitable for precision and load-bearing applications.
