Aluminium 6063 consists of about 97.5% aluminium, 0.6% magnesium, and 0.4% silicon. It is heat-treatable and provides a tensile strength of 190 to 240 MPa and a yield strength of 160 to 200 MPa, depending on the temper (T5 or T6). The alloy offers a great surface finish, moderate strength, good corrosion resistance, and easy fabrication. It is perfect for precision profiles and retains strength after extrusion and machining. Anodizing improves both its appearance and durability.
