Aluminium 2014 is an aluminium-copper alloy that contains about 4.4% copper, 0.8% manganese, and 0.5% magnesium. It has a tensile strength of 440 to 483 MPa and a yield strength of about 400 MPa. The alloy offers excellent machinability and good fatigue resistance; however, it has lower corrosion resistance. It is typically used in a heat-treated state to achieve desired mechanical properties.
