Stainless Steel 430 is a ferritic grade that contains 16–18% chromium and very low carbon (≤ 0.12%), along with small amounts of manganese, silicon, and nickel. The mechanical properties include a tensile strength ranging from 450–600 MPa, a yield strength of about 275 MPa, and an elongation of roughly 22%. This alloy is magnetic and cannot be hardened through heat treatment.
